Homebirth VS. Birth Center

Deciding where you want to birth sometimes seems overwhelming. There are a few things to remember that hopefully will ease some of your worries and help you choose:

-Midwives carry the same tools for a homebirth that we have at the birth center

-Choose a location that you feel is best to welcome your newest addition and where do you feel comfortable and safe will typically provide you with the best outcome

-Make sure your location is set up for YOU! This is your moment and this is your transition. It needs to have the tools and support so you can bring the baby into this world with ease

-Making sure you always have a comfortable back up plan ready so you can feel comfortable when laboring and having all the steps planned out allows you to labor without hesitation

-Remembering that after birth you are going to be exhausted, sore, and with a newborn can also help you decide where you want to birth. Typically with a birth center you go home about 4 hours after birth, and home the team leaves about 4 hours after.
